Privacy
What this site knows about you, which is close to nothing
This policy describes the site as it actually runs today, not a generic template. There are no accounts, no comment boxes, no contact forms, no analytics and no advertising pixels on these pages. Most visitors leave no trace beyond a line in the server log.
01
Server logs
Like every website, this one is served by a computer that records requests. Our hosting provider keeps standard access logs, which typically contain the IP address that made the request, the page requested, the time, the browser’s user-agent string and the referring page. These logs exist to keep the site running and to investigate abuse; they are not used to build a profile of anyone.
We do not combine log entries with any other information, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from them. Retention is controlled by the hosting provider’s own log rotation, not by us.
02
Cookies and similar technology
We do not set cookies for analytics, advertising, remarketing or cross-site tracking, and we have not installed any third-party script that does. Because of that, you will not see a cookie-consent banner here: a banner asking permission for tracking that doesn’t happen would be theatre.
At the time of writing, a first visit to this site sets no cookie at all — we checked the response headers, not just the settings. WordPress runs behind a caching layer that may use a technical cookie in some configurations, so the honest version is: none today, and this page will say so if that changes.
If we ever add analytics, a cookie banner will appear on the same day this policy changes — not afterwards. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time, and everything on this site will still work.
03
If you email us
There is no contact form on this site, so the only information we receive is what you choose to put in an email. That usually means your address, your name if you sign it, and whatever you wrote about your situation.
Please don’t send medical records, scans, test results or photographs. We don’t need them to answer a question about a price, and holding someone’s clinical documents creates a duty of care that a single-editor reference site cannot honour. If you send them anyway, we delete them.
Your email is used to reply to you. It is not added to a mailing list, because there isn’t one. It is not shared with clinics, and we don’t ask whether you’d like to be contacted by a partner — we have no partners.
04
Who else is involved
Three service providers touch data on our behalf. None of them receives information from us beyond what is needed to run the site.
| Provider | Role | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Hostinger | Hosting and server logs | IP addresses and request metadata, as any web host does |
| LiteSpeed | Page caching, running on the same server | Request data in memory; cached pages expire automatically |
| Google (Gmail) | The mailbox we answer from | Anything you send us by email |
We don’t use an email marketing platform, a CRM, a helpdesk, a chat widget, a heat-mapping tool or an A/B testing service. There is no data processor list longer than the three rows above.
05
How long we keep things
Kept for a short rolling period under the host’s standard rotation. We don’t download or archive them.
Kept while the conversation is active, then up to 24 months in case you write again about the same quote. After that they are deleted. Ask sooner and we delete sooner.
A quote may inform a general example on a page, but never with your name, your location, your clinic or anything else that identifies you. If you’d rather it not be used at all, say so in the email.
No accounts, no profiles, no purchase history, no saved preferences. There is no database of visitors to retain.
06
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to ask what personal data an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to its use, or to receive a copy in a portable format. We honour those requests regardless of where you are writing from, because the alternative — treating a reader differently depending on their passport — isn’t defensible.
In practice, here is what a request will find. If you have never emailed us, we hold nothing about you that is linked to you: log entries are not associated with identities, so there is no file to retrieve. If you have emailed us, we hold that email and our replies, and can delete them on request.
Write to contact@chinamedcost.com with the word “privacy” in the subject line. We answer within 30 days, usually much sooner, and we won’t ask you to prove your identity beyond writing from the address you contacted us from.
07
Children
This site is written for adults arranging their own treatment, and it is not directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If a young person emails us, we reply with general information only and don’t keep the message beyond answering it.
08
Changes to this policy
The date at the top of this page is the date it last changed. Because the policy describes the site’s actual configuration, any feature that collects data — analytics, a form, a newsletter, an advertising tag — will change this page before or on the day it goes live, not months later.
If a change materially affects what happens to information you have already sent us, we will say so at the top of the page for at least 30 days rather than editing quietly.
Questions about any of this?
Ask, and you’ll get a plain answer from a person rather than a paragraph of legal boilerplate.
