This is not medical advice. It is also not a quote.

This site explains how medical pricing and hospital systems in China work. It does not practise medicine, does not assess your case, and cannot tell you what you will be charged. Both limits are deliberate, and both are worth reading before you act on anything here.

01 — Medical advice

No diagnosis, no treatment recommendation

Nothing on this site is medical advice. It is reference material about cost structures, hospital licensing, documentation and process. It is written for a general reader and cannot account for your history, your medications, your anatomy or your test results.

Reading this site does not create a doctor–patient relationship, and no clinician has reviewed your case. Where a page describes what a procedure involves, it does so to explain why the price is built the way it is — not to tell you whether you need it.

Do not delay care to read this site. If a clinician has recommended a treatment, or if a symptom is worrying you, act on that. Nothing here is a reason to postpone a consultation, skip a follow-up, or change a prescription.

02 — Prices

A published price is not your price

The figures on this site come from named sources: government notices that cap a service fee, national bulk-purchase results that set a range for a device, and industry pages where a figure exists at all. Each one is dated and linked, and each one describes a category, never a person.

What you will actually be charged depends on things no published schedule can capture: which hospital, which department, which implant brand, whether grafting is needed, how many visits the case takes, and whether the clinic quotes the standard schedule or the international department price. Two quotes that look identical on a page can differ by a factor of three at the desk.

What we publishWhat it is not
A government-capped service fee for a category of procedure A quotation for your treatment, or a guarantee a hospital will charge it
A bulk-purchase range for a device, such as an implant fixture The brand you will be offered, or the price of the finished tooth
A dated figure from a named industry source A national average for a country that has no national price list
A currency conversion where we show one The rate your bank or card will apply, or a settled price

Any figure here is a starting point for a conversation with a hospital, not a substitute for a written quotation from one.

03 — Outcomes and endorsement

We don’t promise results, and we don’t rank providers

There is no claim anywhere on this site that a treatment will succeed, that a hospital is better than another, or that a surgeon is skilled. We have no outcome data for individual clinicians, and the tier grades described on the hospitals page measure an institution’s size, staffing and equipment requirements — not the results of any operation.

No hospital, clinic or agency has paid for placement, and none has approved the text of any page. We take no referral fee, so a page cannot be read as a recommendation we were paid to make. If that ever changes, the disclosure will sit on the page that carries the link, not buried in a footer.

04 — Currency of information

This material ages, and sometimes quickly

Chinese medical pricing is set by notice, not by market drift. A service fee can be capped, a device can be brought into a national bulk purchase, and the resulting range can change within a year. Visa rules, testing requirements and hospital departments change on their own schedule. Every page here carries a review date for that reason.

When a source disappears or stops supporting a figure, the figure is removed rather than left standing on an old citation. That means a page may look less complete than a competitor’s — and it means every number that remains can be checked by following its link.

Before you rely on a figure, check its date. If a page here has not been reviewed in more than a year, treat it as background rather than current — and ask the hospital for a written quote, which is the only version that binds anyone.

05 — Language

Translations lose information, including here

Medical and administrative terms do not map one-to-one between Chinese and English. A single Chinese term may cover three billable items that English separates, and an English term may have no Chinese equivalent at all. Where that happens, this site explains the ambiguity instead of picking the tidiest translation — but some meaning is still lost in every rendering.

Nothing here should be used to fill in a clinical form, consent document or insurance claim. For those, use a certified translator, and have the hospital’s international department confirm the terms in writing.

06 — Emergencies and liability

What this site cannot do

EmergenciesCall a hospital

This site is not monitored continuously and cannot respond to an urgent situation. Contact your local emergency number, or go to the nearest emergency department.

Individual casesNot a clinical service

We can explain what a quote should contain. We cannot interpret a scan, assess a diagnosis, or advise on medication.

External linksNot our content

Links to government notices, hospital pages and industry reports are provided for verification. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for what they publish or how they change.

LiabilityUse at your own judgement

The site is provided as general information, without warranty of completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. Decisions about treatment and spending are yours, ideally made with a clinician and a written quote.

07 — Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us

Send the page and the statement you believe is incorrect to contact@chinamedcost.com. If the source no longer supports it, it comes off the page and the review date changes. We would rather publish a shorter page than a confident one we cannot defend.

Related: the privacy policy covers what happens to anything you send us, and the about page sets out the editorial standard behind these pages.
